Residents who have opinions about what Vancouver-Clark Parks and Recreation does and doesn’t do are encouraged to complete an online survey in advance of the department’s comprehensive plan update.

The last update was finished in 2007.

The comprehensive plan sets a framework for developing and managing parks, trails, open spaces and recreation facilities, according to a news release from the city of Vancouver.

As of Aug. 30, 254 people had filled out the survey, parks planner Monica Tubberville said Tuesday.

The survey asks users to list a ZIP code but doesn’t require a name.

The survey asks users how often they go to parks, how well they think the department does maintaining parks and facilities and how spending should be prioritized. It also asks people to rank the importance of different amenities, such as off-leash dog parks, neighborhood parks with play equipment, trails, regional parks, recreation centers, indoor swimming pools, tennis courts and sports fields.

The survey includes space for people to write in suggestions and criticisms.

The online survey can be found at http://www.cityofvancouver.us/vcprd-compplan.

The survey will be available until midnight on Oct. 13.
