A 21-year-old woman was seriously injured and had to be cut from her car after a head-on collision Thursday afternoon near Daybreak Park in Battle Ground.

A Ford F-150 collided with a Honda Civic at Northeast Hyatt Road and Northeast Daybreak Road, a Y-shaped intersection, said Battalion Chief Tim Dawdy, spokesman for Clark County Fire & Rescue. The accident was reported at 3:04 p.m.

The Honda had heavy front-end damage and the woman was trapped inside. Firefighters cut the top off of the car and freed her from the vehicle. She was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center by AMR ambulance with “multiple injuries,” Dawdy said.

The driver of the Ford declined medical treatment. The names of the drivers were not released.

Dawdy said the intersection has some sight distance issues. Motorists who take a left onto Daybreak Road from Hyatt Road merge into traffic that’s heading down a hill.

The crash is under investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
