New principals named at Evergreen schools

Evergreen Public Schools announced the district’s new principals Wednesday, the district’s first day of the 2013-14 school year.

The new principal at Shahala Middle School is Gregg Brown, former associate principal at both Union and Heritage high schools. Illahee Elementary School’s new principal is Erin Lucich, former district supervisor of school improvement. Illahee’s previous principal, Deb Alden, is now a principal on special assignment at the district’s administrative service center.

Julie Tumelty is the first principal for Henrietta Lacks Health and Bioscience High School, which opened Wednesday. Tumelty had served as coordinator for the district’s IQ Academy and Evergreen Flex Academy.

Elizabeth Browley, the new principal at Orchards Elementary School, was the associate principal and an instructional coach at Image Elementary School. She replaces Vinh Nguyen, now a principal on special assignment at the district’s administrative service center.

The new director of the Clark County Skills Center is Kari Duffy, the facility’s former assistant director.

Karen Weintraub, the new coordinator at Evergreen Flex Academy, was principal at Columbia Valley Elementary School and the district’s assessment manager.

Tilly Meyer is the new coordinator of IQ Academy. She had taught at Shahala Middle School, was the district’s LAP coordinator and supported the Evergreen Flex Academy.
