The Fort Vancouver National Trust is accepting applications for entries in the 27th Annual Veterans Parade at Fort Vancouver, also called the “Lough Legacy Parade” because it’s paid for in perpetuity with a gift from the estate of Frank and Joanne Lough. Frank Lough spent 22 years in the Navy.

The annual event honors veterans of all service branches. It’s set for 11 a.m. Nov. 9, rain or shine. The parade begins at the east end of Officers Row.

Groups and organizations are encouraged to honor veterans by participating. High school bands, college and high school ROTC groups, Scouts, equestrian units, vehicle clubs and others have participated in the past. The parade typically attracts more than 120 entries representing approximately 2,500 people who march or ride along. It is broadcast on Clark-Vancouver Television.

Entry applications are available http://www.fortvan.org/veteransparade, at the Fort Vancouver National Trust office in the O.O. Howard House, 750 Anderson St., or by calling the Trust at 360-992-1804. The application deadline is Oct. 4.
