Burton Elementary School — Seven area employees of Wells Fargo who also volunteer for their communities were honored for that volunteer service with company grants. Among the winners was Heather Shove, whose dedication to coaching for the Miracle League of Vancouver scored a $1,000 grant for the nonprofit, which brings baseball and other sports to people with special needs. The League, which has 10 teams and over 100 members, is usually based at the playing fields at Burton Elementary School, but its dream is to build a $300,000 rubberized field at Pacific Community Park that’s safe for people with crutches, walkers and wheelchairs.
