Bennington — The Parks Foundation of Clark County received a $1,000 grant from the 192nd Avenue Walmart Supercenter through Walmart’s Local Giving Program. The money will be granted back out to support local summer playground programs and recreation scholarships through its Community Grant program. Over the past five years, the Parks Foundation has awarded $240,900 in community grants to the cities of Clark County for things like new playgrounds in Camas and Washougal, a skate park in Yacolt, recreation scholarships for needy children and development and printing of a paddling guide. Right now the Foundation is embarking on a campaign to raise $100,000 for its 2014 round of community grants. Learn more at http://www.parksfoundation.us/community-grants.
