Esther Short — With days to go until the 10th annual Peace and Justice Fair in downtown Vancouver, organizers were braced to receive a word or two of encouragement from Washington Gov. Jay Inslee. Inslee sent a letter that said: “This multicultural, interfaith event has grown to approximately 70 exhibiting groups each year, including environmental, faith-based, and human rights organizations. This gathering is a wonderful opportunity for the Vancouver community to come together in the spirit of unity and to promote peace and justice for all. I applaud the fair organizers, volunteers and supporters for their efforts to build community and celebrate diversity.” The homegrown fair is set for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in Esther Short Park.
