A Vancouver man was transported to a hospital Tuesday evening after crashing his pickup truck into the jersey barrier on the Glenn Jackson Bridge.

Branden Pittard, 24, was driving a 2000 Ford Ranger south on Interstate 205 when he changed lanes abruptly and overcorrected, causing debris from inside the vehicle to dislodge and hit him. He lost control of the pickup, which struck the jersey barrier on the right side, said Trooper Will Finn, spokesman for the Washington State Patrol.

Emergency personnel were dispatched to the crash at 5:36 p.m., where they found Pittard very groggy but otherwise uninjured, Finn said. He was transported to an area hospital for a medical evaluation, the State Patrol said.

The right lane of the interstate was blocked for about 20 minutes while troopers investigated, and Pittard’s vehicle was towed. He was cited for making an unsafe lane change.
