Hundreds of Southwest Washington residents will unite for a common cause: ending Alzheimer’s disease.

This year’s Southwest Washington Walk to End Alzheimer’s will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15 at Lake Sacajawea at Nicholas Boulevard and 20th Avenue in Longview. Registration for the event begins at 11:30 a.m. and an opening ceremony is scheduled for noon.

The 2012 Southwest Washington walk — sponsored by the national Alzheimer’s Association — raised $12,107. More than $51.8 million was raised nationwide. The money is used for care, support and research efforts for those impacted by Alzheimer’s.

For more information, or to join a team, visit www.alz.org/walk or call 206-529-3898.
