‘Imagined Ink’ teen writing contest begins

Teens interested in writing and having their work published are invited to enter the “Imagined Ink” teen writing contest.

It is open to students in sixth- through 12th-grade who attend school, are home schooled or live within the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District boundaries.

Entries will be published on the teen section of the FVRL website and may be edited for spelling and grammar.

Winners will be announced Friday, Oct. 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Vancouver Community Library, 901 “C” St., with award-winning young adult author Kenneth Oppel.

Monopoly tournament coming to library

There will be a monopoly tournament for seventh- through 12-grade students at the Camas Public Library from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Sept. 30.

The winner gets a brand-new Monopoly game.

Parents and other adults can participate as bankers/referees and spectators.

All attendees must sign up in advance by calling 834-4692 or visiting the library at 625 N.E. Fourth Ave.

Participants must already know how to play Monopoly to participate in the tournament.

Pizza will be served at 6 p.m.
