At 4:18 p.m. Sunday, the Southwest Washington Regional SWAT Team responded to the report of a robbery and dispute at the Robinwood Apartments, 3311 E. 18th St.

A suspect barricaded himself in his apartment after allegedly pulling a knife on a woman who is his neighbor and demanded money.

At 7:35 p.m., team members broke down the man’s apartment door and a police dog bit him. He was taken to an area hospital and then taken to the Clark County Jail.

Alvin D. Hudson, 22, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree robbery.

Vancouver police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said Hudson lives in a quad arrangement and neighbors in the other three units left the scene.

There were two armored police units at the scene and at least one flash-bang grenade was used in an attempt to get the suspect to come out of his apartment.
