A meeting to discuss revitalizing Old Town Battle Ground will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Moulton Falls room at the Battle Ground Community Center.

“We have had input on what the community and business owners would like for Old Town, and the next step is creating committees to put plans together and get the plans into action,” said Carrie Schulstad, executive director of the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce, in a press release.

“We plan to follow the guidelines for the Main Street Program, creating a program authentic to Battle Ground.”

The Main Street Program is a method for revitalizing historic downtowns by bringing various stakeholders — including the city and business leaders — together.

The Washington State Main Street Program follows the guidelines of the National Main Street Program and is a part of the Washington Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation.

More information on the Washington State Main Street Program can be found at http://www.dahp.wa.gov/programs/mainstreet-program and on the Battle Ground Chamber of Commerce website under Old Town Revitalization.
