Mountain View High School — The school band’s wind ensemble is one of 16 nationwide, and the only one from the Pacific Northwest, that’s been invited to take part in the Bands of America Conference this spring in Indianapolis. The band is raising money for its trip, which is expected to cost about $1,500 per child. Community members are asked to help by visiting the holiday bazaar at Mountain View High School, 1500 S.E. Blairmont Drive, on Nov. 9, or by going to http://bit.ly/1azpREp. “The absolute last thing that we want is for someone to not be able to attend this once-in-a-lifetime experience because of a financial situation that could easily have been lessened or even avoided,” the website says.
