Police identified the man hospitalized after a hit-and-run crash in the Marrion neighborhood on Monday as Stephen D. Dewey, 65, of Vancouver.

Dewey was using a walker to cross Southeast Mill Plain Boulevard at Southeast 105th Avenue about 7 p.m. when he was struck by a vehicle and the driver drove away, according to Vancouver police. He remains in critical condition at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

The suspected driver and vehicle are still being sought. Witnesses described the vehicle as a gray sedan, possibly an import, that likely has right front-end damage.

Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call the Vancouver Police Department at 360-487-7400 or 911.
