A father is suspected of shooting and injuring a 49-year-old son after an argument Sunday night in far north Clark County, said Clark County Sgt. Tony Barnes.

At 8:25 p.m., 911 dispatchers reported a shooting incident at 38011 N.E. 109th Ave.

Barnes said the 74-year-old father was arguing with two sons in their 40s.

The father is suspected of shooting the 49-year-old son in the upper leg near the hip, Barnes said.

The 49-year-old was examined by North Country EMS officials, who called for Life Flight helicopter assistance. The man was then flown to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center.

The father was being detained, Barnes said Sunday night.

Names had not been released by The Columbian’s press time.
