CAMAS — A sloppy start turned into another one-sided win for the Camas Papermakers.
The top-ranked Class 4A team in Washington was its own worst enemy at the start of Friday’s game against Heritage, but after an early wakeup call the Papermakers rolled to a 62-0 win over Heritage at Doc Harris Stadium.
Nate Beasley ran for 144 yards and scored three touchdowns on seven carries to highlight the offense for Camas (8-0).
But Heritage forced Camas to punt twice before the Papermakers got a first down.
“I tip my hat to Heritage, who came out with a great plan. Their kids were on fire and caused us a lot of problems,” Camas coach Jon Eagle said.
The Papermakers didn’t record a first down until their third possession, when Beasley ran 58 yards for the first touchdown of the game.
