With relentless defense and smash mouth offense, the Papermakers won the biggest football game in Camas with a 44-6 victory against Union Friday, at Doc Harris Stadium.

Matt Danis, Adam Dawson, Michael DiGenova, Jason Vailea and Matt Walser swarmed the Titans on defense. James Price caught two touchdowns and a 2-point conversion pass from quarterback Reilly Hennessey.

Hennessey also had two touchdown runs. Nate Beasley and Vailea carried the football across the goal line for touchdowns. Caleb Lightborn kicked a field goal.

The Papermakers have taken command of the 4A Greater St. Helens League with two games to go. Camas hosts Heritage for homecoming and then wraps up league play at Battle Ground.

Wild win in Washougal

Aberdeen couldn’t cage the Panthers Friday, who remain unbeaten on their new home turf and Fishback Stadium.

Facing a fourth down with the game on the line, Bobby Jacobs busted through a seam with the help of his blockers and took it to the house to give Washougal a 28-21 lead with about three minutes left on the clock. The Panthers made one final defensive stand to secure a hard fought victory.

Luke Hiersche had a memorable night on offense and defense. He caught a touchdown pass from Chase Duey and also scored a safety.

Washougal wants to carry this momentum on the road to Mark Morris. The Panthers still have one more home game against Hockinson.

Read more about these victories for the Panthers and the Papermakers in Tuesday’s print edition of the Post-Record.
