La Center — The La Center Lions’ youth organization, Leading LEO Club, helped plant a garden Oct. 5 at La Center Middle School in memory of 14-year-old Cody Sherrell, who died from cardiac arrest while practicing basketball at school in 2012. Once finished, the Cody Sherrell Memorial Garden is expected to include a seating area, art and other decorations. The La Center Garden Club donated the plants used in the space.
