Police arrested a man for suspected drunken driving after he crashed his vehicle into a tree early Tuesday.

The crash was reported at 2:06 a.m. at the intersection of Northeast Second Street and Northeast 116th Avenue, a tree-lined area behind a shopping complex.

Driver Charles S. Filbeck, 26, was taken by a patrol officer to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center where he got stitches to his head, said Kim Kapp, spokeswoman for the Vancouver Police Department.

Filbeck was issued a criminal citation alleging driving under the influence.
