Mountain View, led by the powerful tandem of Preston Jones and Garrett Jones, defeated the Fort Vancouver Trappers.
Preston Jones accounted for four touchdowns on seven carries, rushing for 128 yards total. Garrett Jones intercepted Fort Vancouver quarterback’s first pass of the game and took it 35 yards for the first score, later following that up with a 59-yard TD reception from Thunder quarterback Lex Reese.
The Thunder scored on their first five possessions, jumping out to a 35-0 lead after the first quarter. The defense forced Fort Vancouver into three interceptions and two fumbles. Mountain View had five touchdowns that came on plays of 30 yards or more, including 41- and 33-yard runs from Preston Jones.
In the second half, Trappers’ quarterback Jordan Suell and wide receiver Marquis Taylor connected multiple times, but none more important than the 77-yard pass play that gave Fort Vancouver its first score of the game.
