Amboy man escapes serious injury after rollover crash

An Amboy man escaped serious injury but faces a citation for negligent driving after a one-car accident near Yacolt.

Washington State Patrol identified the man as William B. Hood, 36.

The crash occurred at 4:11 p.m. Thursday on Highway 503 at milepost 24, near Yacolt. According to the state patrol, Hood was driving a 1997 Saturn sedan north when he attempted to pass another vehicle in a no-passing zone. While he was in the southbound lane, he lost control and the Saturn ran of the road and overturned, coming to rest on its top right side.

Hood was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center, where he was treated and released.
