A Mountain View High School sophomore is collecting food from residents of 14 different areas in east Vancouver to donate to F.I.S.H. of Orchards, a local food bank.

As part of his Eagle Scout project, Paul Every is asking residents to leave nonperishable food items on their porches on the morning of Saturday, Oct. 19, when he will pick up the items and take them to the organization. The following neighborhood subdivisions are participating in the food drive: Clearmeadow, Columbia Heights, East Hampton, English Ridge, Fishers Glen, Fishers Grove, Heritage, Heritage Reserve at Fisher’s Landing, Mountain View Village, Quail Run Apartments, Summer’s Walk, The Firs, Town Center at Fisher’s Landing and Westridge.

F.I.S.H. of Orchards President Don Espey said that in his 11 years volunteering with the organization, the current food supply is the lowest he’s ever seen.
