Hazel Dell — Record-breaking rain didn’t stop upwards of 500 people from turning out at the 78th Street Heritage Farm on Sept. 29 for Harvest Fun Day. Scarecrow and pie-eating contests were hard-fought while carrot and corn picking for the Clark County Food Bank gave folks a little taste of farm work. It was the 10th annual festival, which has grown tremendously from its start on the gravel lot across the street from primary sponsor the Clark County Historical Museum. Also helping to put on the event were Clark County and the Washington State University Clark County Extension.
