Jorden Payne of Camas was voted The Columbian’s high school football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 5.
Payne collected 33 percent of the 773 votes cast by fans to beat out Leon Siofele of Union, who had 31 percent.
Payne played a solid all-around game against Skyview and scored twice in a three-minute stretch, once on a touchdown reception and once on a 55-yard interception return.
The other nominees were Connor Fulton of La Center, Hayden Humphrey of Battle Ground and Josiah Tully of King’s Way Christian.
