A Vancouver man was hospitalized Sunday afternoon after he crashed his motorcycle on state Highway 503 about 10 miles northeast of Woodland.

Washington State Patrol said Robert D. Ventura, 60, was driving too fast on a curve and veered from the right lane into the left and struck a guardrail. The wreck happened at 12:38 p.m. near the Ariel post office, the patrol said. Ventura was riding a 2013 Suzuki GSX600.

Ventura, who was wearing a helmet, was listed in fair condition Sunday night at Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center.

The patrol cited Ventura for driving too fast for conditions.
