The 18th annual Pumpkin Festival at Pomeroy Living History Farm features a hayride through the decorated Pumpkin Lane, full of 90 “pumpkin people” on the way to the farm’s pumpkin patch. There also is a hay bale maze, farm animals, the pumpkin flume, tours of the historic log house and entertainment.

2. Historic branches
The annual Old Apple Tree Festival celebrates one of the county’s oldest residents. Planted in 1826 on the edge of Fort Vancouver, the apple tree is considered the oldest in the Pacific Northwest. The community event features fruit tree pruning workshops, free cuttings from the apple tree, apple tasting, apple cider pressing, children’s activities, and walking tours of Fort Vancouver. There will be live music by Green Apple Jam, On a Lark, Another Shade of Bluegrass and the Washington Old Time Fiddlers Association.

Confront Your Fears opens theirfour haunted mazes: “Relic” is a hidden temple filled with monsters, giant spiders and snakes; “Biohazard” pays homage to horror video games with zombies and killers; “Morbid Nightmares” is a labyrinth of dreams gone wrong; and “Circus Insane 3D” is a funhouse full of 3-D effects and killer clowns. Recommended for ages 14 and older. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Clubs.
