The head of the Oregon Department of Transportation will address the future of the Columbia River Crossing during a breakfast forum later this month.
ODOT Director Matthew Garrett, along with the City Club of Portland, will lead a presentation about “the new Columbia River Crossing” as the proposed Interstate 5 Bridge replacement, even with a string of recent advances, faces an uncertain future.
The CRC has operated largely without financial involvement from Washington since July. Oregon leaders are now pursuing a revised $2.7 billion project.
The forum is hosted by the Columbia Corridor Association, a Portland-based business advocacy group that hosts regular breakfast forums.
This month’s event begins at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 23, at the Red Lion on the River, 909 N. Hayden Island Drive in Portland. The event costs $30 per person for Columbia Corridor Association members, and $40 for nonmembers.
