The owners of Vancouver store One World Merchants have announced plans to move the business online and close the Uptown Village boutique on Oct. 31, ending a six-year run at 2315 Main St..

“It’s too much of a struggle to keep the doors open,” said Liz Halili, who owns the business with David Schmitz. Halili cited the economic downturn and its lingering effects in Clark County for slow sales of the store’s eclectic mix of merchandise.

The shop carries clothing, jewelry, furnishings and handcrafted items from around the world. It also carries one-of-a-kind, locally made jewelry and art, and some resale items. Owners will have an inventory reduction sale through the month at the store, open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturdays.
