o Potting Party: 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 12. Drop in anytime during the event. Bring a container for this hands-on help with creating a container. Soil and fertilizer will be provided. Price is based on supplies.

o Overwintering Your Bonsai: 11 a.m. Oct. 19. Learn how to prepare your bonsai for the cold of winter. Bring your bonsai along.

Backyard Composting Workshop: 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 12 at CASEE, 11104 N.E. 149th St., Brush Prairie. Learn the basics of backyard composting including a visit to a composting demonstration site to learn how to build a hot compost pile, an overview of various composting bins and systems, and a classroom orientation on the science of composting. Wildlife Diversity Gardening: 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 19 at CASEE, building B, Room 206, 11104 N.E. 149th St., Brush Prairie. Learn how to promote wildlife diversity using native plants and shelter structures, focusing on bees, butterflies, moths and birds. NatureScaping classes are free for members, or $15 for nonmembers.
