Sampling found surprisingly good catches of fall chinook in the lower Columbia and The Dalles pool last weekend given how hard the wind was howling and the rain pouring.
Still, with each passing day, chinook fishing becomes more and more a case of target-gone-by.
No sampling information is available from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife this week, so these are only Oregon checks.
Lower Columbia — Clatsop Spit to Jones Beach, nine Oregon bank rods with no catch. (ODFW)
