• Vancouver-based Sigma Design, a product development and engineering firm, has hired Don Mayette and Bob New. Mayette, who has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering technology from Southern Polytechnic State University, joins the company as a mechanical engineer. New, who has a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Portland State University and a master’s degree in computational linguistics from the University of Washington, joins the company as a firmware engineer.

o Ryan Macauley has been hired by Vancouver-based Entek Corp. as a commercial-industrial planned maintenance specialist in sales. He will be responsible for growing the company’s planned maintenance program in greater Southwest Washington and Oregon for commercial and industrial businesses.

o The Vancouver’s Downtown Association board of directors has chosen Josh Oliva of Hi-School Pharmacy Real Estate as its new chairman. Other new officers are Linda Reid of Columbia Bank as vice-chair; Linda Glover of Divine Consign as secretary; and Linda McLain of the Currie-McLain certified public accounting firm as treasurer. Immediate past chair Casey Wyckoff of LSW Architects will remain on the executive committee. The new positions go into effect on Jan. 1.

o The Washington State Bar Association has awarded Vancouver attorney Dan Marsh a 50-year Award of Honor. He is one of 45 individuals admitted to practice law in Washington in 1963 who are still members of the Washington association. He is an estate planning attorney with Marsh, Higgins, Beaty & Hatch. Marsh is also a member of the U.S. District Court, Western District of Washington, U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit and U.S. Supreme Court bars.

• The American Heart Association, Oregon and Southwest Washington Division, named new leaders to its board of directors. Dr. Joaquin Cigarroa, associate chief of clinical affairs, OHSU Knight Cardiovascular Institute, will continue for the second year as board president. Barbara Swanson, vice president of sales, Oregonian Media Group, joins as vice chairman and Dr. Sarice Bassin, director, Stroke & Neurohospitalist Program, PeaceHealth SW Medical Center, joins as vice president. New board members include Betsy Maust, director of Deloitte; Donna Moore, executive director of Digital Living Network Alliance; and Jim Zupancic, partner, Zupancic Rathbone Law Group & Founder, Stafford Hills Club.
