A former senior assistant at the Washougal Community Library has been promoted.
Janet Alder, of Washougal, is the new marketing and outreach coordinator for the Fort Vancouver Regional Library District.
She was selected by an interview panel comprised of employees from throughout the district.
Alder is a former bank vice president in charge of marketing.
According to Washougal Librarian Chris Hughey, Alder was president of the non-profit group Friends of the Washougal Community Library for many years and then began substituting for the library district in a variety of locations, mostly at Washougal.
Alder was hired as an assistant II at the Washougal Library in 2008, and she became a senior library assistant in 2012.
“We will really miss her at Washougal, but we look forward to working with her on various projects,” Hughey said. “We will be interviewing other FVRL employees for a position here at Washougal soon.”
