What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:

1

Yes, every now and then, there is an NFL game that will end in a tie.

The Packers and Vikings played to a 26-26 tie on Sunday. It was just the fourth tie in the NFL since 2000.

So perhaps you can forgive the players in thinking that a game will continue until there’s a winner. Makes sense, right?

But still, you’ve got to think a professional football player will know that a tie is a possibility.

Tweeted SI.com’s Robert Klemko: “One of the Packers who didn’t know OT rules was starting TE Andrew Quarless: “I thought we was gonna go to another overtime. I never knew.”

The Maui Invitational college basketball tournament turns 30 this week.

It’s the event that is almost more famous for host Chaminade’s victory over then-No. 1 Virginia and Ralph Sampson in 1982.

Gonzaga, which won in 2009, is back for another go. They tipoff at 9 p.m. tonight against Dayton on ESPN2.

In 2005, the Zags were part of a Maui moment as Adam Morrison scored a tournament-record 43 points in a triple-overtime win over Michigan State. The Bulldogs then lost in the title game the next day to UConn on a turnaround jumper with 1.1 seconds to play. Never a dull moment.
