Clark volleyball stays alive at NWAACC

The Clark College volleyball team remained alive at the double-elimination NWAACC Tournament with a split of two matches Thursday at Mt. Hood Community College in Gresham, Ore.

The Penguins, the fourth seed from the West division, opened the tournament with a 3-0 loss to Blue Mountain. Scores were 25-22, 25-18, 25-15.

In the losers’ bracket, Clark came from a game down to eliminate Shoreline 23-25, 25-23, 16-14.

Karissa Paltridge had 10 kills, Brenda Gonzales had 30 assists, and Shawntel Kalliainen had 14 digs for Clark.

Clark faces another loser-out game at 3 p.m. today.
