Three level III sex offenders, considered most likely to re-offend, have recently registered at new addresses in Vancouver. None are wanted by police at this time.
• Joseph L. Barber, 26, was recently released from the Airway Heights Corrections Center and moved to the 1000 block of West 12th Street. In 2003, he pleaded guilty to first-degree attempted child molestation. According to court documents, Barber, then 15, sexually assaulted a 3-year-old male relative. In 2011, he was convicted of third-degree rape for sexually assaulting a 20-year-old woman he knew.
He’s described as 6 feet tall and 152 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes. He will be monitored by the Washington State Department of Corrections, the Vancouver Police Department Sex Offender Tracking Unit and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Sex Offender Registration Unit.
• Patrick R. King, 61, recently registered as a transient. King was convicted of indecent liberties in 1984. He sexually abused a 8-year-old girl while baby-sitting her, according to court documents. He threatened to kill the victim if she disclosed the assault. In 1997, he pleaded guilty to first-degree child molestation of a 5-year-old girl whom he knew.
