What steps are you taking to building your business? Kirk Hall, owner and president, said he listens to his customers to understand what their needs are. Hall’s company has recently begun working with contractors to facilitate the concrete, plumbing, electrical and roofing work for a project. Hall has also invested in equipment to make employees’ work safer and more efficient.

Greatest challenge in running your business: Trying to stay competitive with other contractors in today’s market with the rising costs of doing business, Hall said.

What’s ahead for your business in the next six to eight months: Hall has joined a contracting association to help make contacts and expand his business, especially the excavation and site work part of the business, which was added last year.

Owner’s business history or where were you before this position: Kirk Hall was a manager with a spa company and ran its day-to-day operations until he bought Acc-U-Set in 1997.
