The Portland Winterhawks had a big night on special teams in a 7-3 Western Hockey League road win over the Kamloops Blazers on Saturday.
The Hawks (17-5-1-1) scored five of their seven goals on special teams, going a perfect 3-3 on the power play and adding two shorthanded goals in the win.
Chase De Leo and Brendan Leipsic each scored two goals for Portland.
De Leo scored both on the power play and shorthanded.
Brendan Burke earned the win in net, with 25 saves on 28 shots.
The Hawks are now off until Friday, when they host the Spokane Chiefs at 7 p.m. at the Memorial Coliseum.
