Rylee Seekins of Hockinson soccer was voted The Columbian’s high school fall sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Nov. 9.
Seekins collected 41 percent of the 1,674 votes cast by fans to beat out Darya Samiee of Mountain View swimming, who had 34 percent.
Seekins finished the 2A district tournament in a big way, scoring three goals and an assist in a win over Tumwater then accounting for all four goals in a state playoff-clinching win over Capital.
The other nominees were Columbia River cross country runner Austin Blankenship, Camas cross country runner Alexa Efraimson and La Center volleyball player Alyssa Carnes.
