Prep roundup: Union advances to 4A soccer quarterfinals

Tayler Troupe and Melissa Foster scored goals to lead the Union girls soccer team to a 2-0 victory at Moses Lake on Wednesday in a Class 4A state playoff match.

Union will host Mead of Spokane on Saturday at a time to be announced in a 4A quarterfinal match.

Troupe put Union up 1-0 in the first half, scoring on an assist from Halie Wheelon. Union sealed the win away in the second half on Foster’s goal off an assist from Delaney Lindahl.

Seattle Academy 3, Woodland 0 — Woodland’s season ended with a first-round loss in the Class 1A state tournament in Tukwila.

New kickoff for La Center — La Center’s Saturday kickoff against Blaine in the Class 1A state football playoffs has been pushed back to 3 p.m., La Center athletic director Matt Cooke announced.
