The Community Celebration Honoring Veterans is hosted by the Mountain Valley Grange and the North Clark Historical Museum. The event begins with a dessert social from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. with music by Wayne Hoffman. The tribute begins at 7 p.m. with a presentation of the colors, a keynote speaker, quilt presentation and winners of the essay contest.

On Veterans Day, the Community Military Appreciation Committee’s Veterans Day Ceremony will give thanks to military veterans for their service. Army Col. Mark Snyder, who retired this year with 30 years of active-duty service, is scheduled to speak. Other speakers include retired Maj. Gen. Curt Loop; U.S. Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Camas; Vancouver Mayor Tim Leavitt and Lt. Col. J.D. Litton. The 204th Army Band will perform, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars will perform a rifle salute and taps.

5. ‘Thor’ balances action and humor
Two years after Thor (Chris Hemsworth) helped quash his brother Loki’s (Tom Hiddleston) plans with the Avengers, Earth and Asgard are under threat by a shadowy force and their malicious leader Malekith. He is searching for a dark force called the Aether. When Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) discovers an abnormal chasm on Earth, she accidently absorbs the Aether.
