A 21-year-old Camas woman was hospitalized Wednesday evening after her car crashed into a tree in the Sifton area

The Washington State Patrol said Kristi M. Valentine was westbound on state Highway 500 near 182nd Avenue when the 2001 Chyrsler PT Cruiser she was driving entered a turn, went out of control, crossed into the eastbound lane and then rolled once into the tree. The accident happened at 4:05 p.m. Wednesday.

Valentine was at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center on Wednesday night. Her condition was listed as satisfactory.

The patrol’s report said she was wearing a seat belt and indicated she was alone in the car.

The patrol said the accident was caused by excessive speed. Roads were wet, the report said.
