A Vancouver man who was struck in a hit-and-run crash last week has died, according to the Vancouver Police Department.

Stephen D. Dewey, 65, was using a walker to cross the street at 105th Avenue and Mill Plain Boulevard about 7 p.m. Oct. 28, police said.

The vehicle, which witnesses describe as a gray sedan that is possibly an import, left the scene. Police said the car likely has front-end damage.

Dewey was taken to an area hospital, where he remained with serious injuries. Police were notified on Tuesday that Dewey had died.

The agency’s traffic unit is continuing its investigation, which includes attempting to identify the driver and find the vehicle involved.

To do that, they are asking for the public’s help.

Anyone with information is asked to call Vancouver police at 360-487-7355.

Kim Kapp, spokeswoman for the Vancouver Police Department, reminded the public that tips can be anonymous.

“It’s not too late for people to come forward,” she said.
