Nominees for high school fall sports athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Nov. 2. Voting will conclude at 8 p.m. Thursday with results published in Friday’s Columbian.

KYLE DEGRAAFF, LA CENTER BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Degraaff raced to a nine-second victory at the 1A district meet at Lewis River Golf Course, winning in 16:48 and leading La Center to a team win.

ALEXIS FULLER, UNION GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Fuller finished second in the 4A bi-district meet at American Lake Golf Course in Tacoma, finishing in 18:31 and helping Union clinch a state berth.

DOMINIK GORECKI, COLUMBIA RIVER TENNIS: Gorecki clinched a state berth with a second-place finish at the Class 3A bi-district tournament in Olympia.

MARIE MATHEWS, CAMAS SOCCER: Matthews record eight saves in three shutout victories, including a key, diving saving in the district title match against Union to preserve a 1-0 victory for the Papermakers.

NICOLETTE NESBITT, WOODLAND VOLLEYBALL: Nesbitt averaged 31 assists and 12 digs over three matches in the Trico League tournament, helping the Beavers finish second.
