The Portland Winterhawks extended their Western Hockey League winning streak to 10 games Friday with a 5-2 win over the Seattle Thunderbirds at Kent.
It’s the fourth straight season the Hawks (13-3-0-1) have had a winning streak of at least nine games.
Taylor Leier and Brendan Leipsic each scored two goals and Nicolas Petan and Oliver Bjorkstrand each had two assists.
Portland nearly doubled Seattle in shots on goal with 41 to the Thunderbirds’ 22, including a 15-2 advantage in the first period and 17-6 margin in the second.
