A donation from the Battle Ground Senior Citizens Board has made it more convenient for some people to access Battle Ground Community Center.
The $5,000 donation to the Battle Ground Parks & Recreation Department has paid for an automatic door opener at the center to assist the elderly and people with special needs. While the building meets Americans with Disability Act requirements, it doesn’t have a button-automated door.
The Battle Ground Senior Citizens Board presented the city with a check last week to reimburse the city for the installation.
