Nineteen Camas High School students attended the Science Olympiad National Tournament in Dayton, Ohio recently.
Students competed in 25 events against 59 other high school state champion schools from across the country at Wright University.
The Papermakers, three-time state champions, earned medals in five events and placed 13th overall, the team’s best score in three years of representing Washington state.
Individual event medalists were: Marcus Bintz and Jonathan Ho, sixth-place, Astromomy; Bintz and Jake Hsu, fifth-place, Chemistry Lab; Tim Grote and Noah Wachlin, fourth-place, Robot Arm; and Wachlin and Sophie Shoemaker, first-place, Write-it Do-it.
