For the Volcanoes (7-3), it was their second loss in the last three games following a six-game win streak.
Portland (3-3), has won three straight.
Andre Murray had 29 points, seven rebounds and fives assists for Vancouver, and Paul Hafford had 27 points and six assists.
The Volcanoes shot 50.5 percent from the field.
Dontae Bryant scored a game-high 32 points for Portland to go with eight rebounds and seven assists.
The Volcanoes host the Japan Nippon Tornadoes at 7 p.m. Saturday at the O’Connell Sports Complex at Clark College.
