Volcanoes fall at Portland

Chehales Tapscott scored 31 points to go with 15 rebounds, but the Vancouver Volcanoes couldn’t catch up to the Portland Chinooks, falling 139-128 in International Basketball League action Friday at Eastmoreland Courts in Portland

For the Volcanoes (7-3), it was their second loss in the last three games following a six-game win streak.

Portland (3-3), has won three straight.

Andre Murray had 29 points, seven rebounds and fives assists for Vancouver, and Paul Hafford had 27 points and six assists.

The Volcanoes shot 50.5 percent from the field.

Dontae Bryant scored a game-high 32 points for Portland to go with eight rebounds and seven assists.

The Volcanoes host the Japan Nippon Tornadoes at 7 p.m. Saturday at the O’Connell Sports Complex at Clark College.
