Esther Short — Supporters of the Humane Society for Southwest Washington raised $58,000 during the annual Walk/Run for the Animals on May 4. More than 600 participants and 1,200 attendees came out to Esther Short Park for the fundraiser. Along with the walk/run, Flying Disc Dogs of Oregon gave a demonstration on “disc dogging,” and Vancouver cover band East on 14 performed.

“Money raised at the Walk/Run will help care for more than 10,000 (animals) that we see at the shelter each year,” said Stacey Graham, executive director and president of the Humane Society for Southwest Washington.
