Workers with the Washington State Department of Transportation will close left and center turn lanes on both directions of state Highway 503 Wednesday and Thursday nights between 65th and 71st streets. Lane closures will be in effect between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. while crews make safety and traffic improvements to that stretch of the highway.
During the lane closures, drivers won’t be able to make left turns onto side streets within the work zone, according to WSDOT. The $195,000 federally-funded project installs a raised median on the highway between 65th St. and Padden Parkway.
After Memorial Day weekend, nighttime lane closures will resume on Tuesday and occur every weeknight until the project’s completion in late June. As crews make progress on the project, the work zone will shift north until the project is completed at Padden Parkway.
