What’s the buzz from the world of sports? Here are some items that will have people talking:
1
Word on the street is that a certain former No. 1 draft pick of the Trail Blazers looks “unbelievable” in workouts.
Hummmm, that wouldn’t be Greg Oden, would it?
Running and pushing weights is one thing. Running up and down a basketball floor during NBA competition is quite another.
SI.com’s Ben Golliver put together multiple sources for the latest Oden report. He includes a parade of teams with alleged interest in the 7-footer.
Writes Golliver: “Given that it’s now been 1,260 days since (Oden) last played in the NBA, a contract signing — even a one-year minimum deal with a team that could oversee his rehabilitation — would be an incredible achievement.”

Could the buzz be back in Charlotte?
The NBA team formerly known as the New Orleans Hornets are now officially the Pelicans. So that means the Hornets nickname could return to Charlotte and usurp the Bobcats.
The Bobcats have begun to look into the possibility of changing the nickname back to what Charlotte was before moving to New Orleans in 2002.
However, the NBA says any change can’t happen until at least the 2014-15 season. It apparently takes at least 18 months to “rebrand” a franchise.

Keegan Bradley shot a 60 on Thursday at the Byron Nelson Championship. He also bogeyed the 18th hole in each of the first three rounds. Sang-Moon Bae ended up winning by two shots over Bradley.
Ouch.
